TCS provides officer to Rochester’s temporary homeless center
Amidst these unprecedented times of our shelter in place order, Twin City Security guards have continued to step up as essential employees to keep our community safe. Not only have our officers reported to duty, but we’ve also expanded our presence.
While our country’s leaders continue to encourage all to stay safe at home, have you considered those that don’t have a place to call home? Today we’re highlighting the recent transformation of Rochester’s Mayo Civic Center into a day center for our fellow community members experiencing homelessness.
The City of Rochester along with Rochester Public Library employees have teamed up to operate the shelter. Amongst them is a Twin City Security officer. This officer typically monitors the library, but during the temporary closure, we’ve joined in moving our service to the day shelter.
This shelter provides more than a warm and dry space. Those in need have access to food, water, and bathrooms. The shelter is expected to remain open through the month of April.
While we encourage everyone to stay safe at home; we’re proud to continue providing our necessary services to communities throughout Southern Minnesota. Other places our guards continue to provide service include area schools, industrial plants, residential facilities for the elderly and those with special needs, along with local and federal law enforcement agencies.
